Need a Testimony?

This morning in our devotion time the Holy Spirit asked, “What is your testimony?” Both Jeanne and I just looked at each other and said, “I wonder why He’s asking?” We realized we do have a testimony and asked, “why is that important to you God?” He said, “it’s a written or spoken statement that provides evidence and existence of who I Am in your life.” That’s when we realized all of us need a testimony!

I’ve seen many people when asked if they have a testimony struggle with their answer. Our answers need to come from our hearts and not just out of our mouths. When we realize what Gods done with us and in us, a thankful heart should be loosed and released to speak. Our testimonies are a critical key for breakthrough and victory in our lives. Rev. 12:11 states, “We’ve conquered the enemy by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.” There’s power and authority in each of our testimonies. You overcome by the word of your testimony.” If you don’t know what yours is, ask God to show it to you. John 14:14, “If you ask me anything in my name. I will do it.” We are His workmanship. It’s like asking an artist to explain his masterpiece.

No one can refute your testimony, it’s your evidence that Greater is He that is in you then he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). This sets a precedent (something done or said that justifies what was done previously) in the spiritual realm. It’s critical that we remember and testify what God has done in our lives. Especially as mountains loom and giants stand in our way. Your testimony is a weapon God uses to not only set you free but others as well.

However, there’s also power and authority when we listen to the testimony of others. By listening and agreeing with that testimony we can receive that same power and authority for our lives. How many of us listening to a testimony have asked ourselves would God do that for me? Yes He will, when you lean in, listen well and agree. Ask yourself the last time you heard a testimony did you lean in or brush it off? If you brushed it off you missed your blessing and breakthrough.

Question: Have you ever taken the time needed to think through how God has touched your life and testified about it?

Key Thought: Remember your testimony, Declare your testimony and listen in agreement to the testimony of others.

I hope you are keeping your notes from all the “Faithful Men” teachings and what comes up here for, indeed, you have a book in the making!

  2. Ha, Pastor Vic I,have always know , that you were meant to be a man of God . You’re article on testimony was a blessing. Every testimony no matter how large or small , is meant to touch someone in the Lords flock. Love you both ,and may God Bless. Keep lifting the torch high and lighting the flock , with the praise of Jesus.
