Shut the Front Door

Last night, Jeanne had an amazing dream of a Portal, that opened up a door for her to understand and experience a deep spiritual connection to the heavenly realm. It’s this portal and it’s connection we want to discuss today. This connection is expressed in Matt. 6:10, the Lords prayer, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” This scripture describes the connection between the natural and the supernatural. It’s a Doorway from the kingdom of heaven to the kingdom of earth.

In the dream, a door was left open and a snake had come into the room. Not only did it crawl but it also had legs to swiftly move around a filthy dirty room. It seemed to have a dual identity, it moved like a snake but it had legs that allowed it to scurry off. At first it seemed headless and harmless, not a threat, she called me for help as she continued to clean up the room. She noticed while cleaning, the snake grew larger and was moving about with a new head. She called again, louder this time, “get a gun and come help.” To which I came down with a faithful neighbor, a trustworthy friend that had a gun. The dream ends but she knew that we had dealt with this serpent.

So what did this dream reveal to us? We prayed that the Holy Spirit would lead us into an understanding. We had to start with the revelation, that a door was left open. Open doors are always the portal for evil to enter our lives. Our first response was to go to the Throne of Grace (Heb. 4:16) and repent for those doors in our lives that have been left open. Even though we’re believers, there always seem to be area’s of our lives that we’re not yet willing to close. This allows the snake to crawl in, at first it seems harmless but it grows with evil purpose and moves about into all areas of your life. This makes a life filthy and dirty. It will always get bigger as you allow it to stay apart of your life. The only way to close open doors and deal with snakes in your life is Repentance.

After closing the door through repentance, we now have the authority to deal with the snake (Luke 10:19). The word says, “we have authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy, and nothing will harm you.” How is this possible? The next verse tells us, because our names are written in heaven. This is a portal that allows us to experience what Christ paid for on Calvary, by shedding His blood for us. It’s His authority that can be found in us when we put on the full armor of God and take our stand against evil (Eph. 6:10-12).

Question: Have you left doors open in your life and are experiencing the evil that open doors can bring?

Key Thought: We need to be able and willing to take a close look at our lives, to see if any open doors exist. And if there is, we need to know how to move to the Throne of Grace and do the warfare that’s needed in dealing with the supernatural. As we repent and declare, who He is, in us, the battle is won.

  1. We all have doors that are left open. I found a psalm of David . David is crying out for mercy to the Lord, his God. Psalm 143:1-12 , this psalm paints a great picture of a great crying , for help to the father. This is one ill be reading when i cry to the father in heaven, for repentance. Love you all pastor Vic. May God Bless. Louie

  2. This is really good, Vic! Thanks for sharing that prophetic dream that Jeanne had, and how it relates to our lives as believers. May we all shut the front door, and may the Holy Spirit teach us all how to use the authority of Jesus against the serpent!
